Description
Thermodynamic and kinetic features of chemical transformations under shock compression are considered taking reactions of metal (V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W) interaction with silicon as an example. Mechanisms and topography of processes, occurring under cylindrical geometry of dynamic loading are discussed. Results of electron-microscopic investigation into the shock compression products are presented. 26 refs., 4 figs., 9 tabs
