Scale effect on peculiarities of deformation of structural alloys under static tension at 4.2 K
Creators
Description
A scale effect is studied for its influence on peculiarities of a discontinuous flow of structural alloys (12KH18N10T steel, titanium base alloys). Under conditions of rigid static loading at 4.2 K. It is shown that an increase of the deformed volume of the metal is accompanied by a decrease of the specific surface, thus causing deterioration of the heat removal from the working part of a specimen, and this in its turn induces a change in the character of the discontinuous flow of the material. It is necessary to take into account the effect of shape and size of specimens as well as of members of constructions on the peculiarities of the deformation character under conditions of deep cooling (4.2K)
