Description

This publication is directed to members of the medical profession who write requests for diagnostic examinations requiring the use of ionizing radiation, and to medical and other practitioners undertaking radiographic procedures. The areas covered are: referral, symptomatic patients, screening of asymptomatic patients, diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopic procedures, x-ray equipment and good radiographic procedures. Tables are given of typical doses to an adult patient for diagnostic x-ray procedures and studies using radiopharmaceuticals
