Diapason: an assistant system for supervision

Description

Simulation and assisted diagnosis are the contributions DIAPASON provides to supervision. The reasonings are based on a qualitative model, a knowledge base and a set of constraints on the values of the process variables, all three issued from a single representation of the process. After an overview of the qualitative simulation, the on line interpretation of the latter and the heuristic diagnosis, the cooperation of these three units is pointed out

Abstract (French)

Le systeme DIAPASON propose a l'operateur des fonctionnalites de simulation et d'aide au diagnostic, pour la supervision de procedes continus industriels. Les raisonnements effectues reposent sur l'utilisation d'un modele qualitatif, d'un jeu de contraintes sur les valeurs des variables du procede et d'une base de connaissances, tous trois issus d'une representation unique du procede. La simulation qualitative, le pre-diagnostic sur erreur de simulation et le diagnostic heuristique sont brievement presentes et leur cooperation au sein de DIAPASON est soulignee
