Mineralogical characteristic and geothermometry of garnet leucogneiss from Monapo structure in Mozambique

Description
This thesis is focused on mineralogical and chemical composition of garnet leucogneiss from Monapo structure in Mozambique. The rock has light colour with visible crystals of garnet, mica and quartz. Mineral composition is made by quartz, garnet, mica, feldspar and accessory minerals as zircon, monazite, ilmenite, spinel and rutile. Calculated age of monazite is 632±5.1 Ma. The equilibrium temperature calculated from garnet-biotite pairs is 550±27 °. (authors)
