Some factor plastifying alloys on the matrix of intermetallic FeAl compound

Description

The effects of alloying elements, heat treatment, deformation rate and plastic working on mechanical properties of alloys on the matrix of intermetallic FeAl compound vacuum cast to sand moulds have been investigated. It has been found that the introduction of such elements as Cr, Ni, Ti, Nb or Mn to the alloy has caused only a strengthening without improvement of plasticity. The homogenizing has noticeably improved plasticity. The increase in plasticity was caused by hot rolling that has also resulted in substantial grain refining in the FeAl alloy. (author)
