Heterovalent cation substitutions in the layered compound YBaCuFeO5+δ

(Y,M)BaCuFeO5+δ (M = Ce, Ca, Na), Y(Ba,K)CuFeO5+δ, YBa(Cu,Co)FeO5+δ, YBaCu(Fe,M)O5+δ (M = Zn, Nb), (Y,Ca)BaCu(Fe,Zn)O5+δ, and (Y,Ca)(Ba,La)Cu(Fe,Zn)O5+δ solid solutions have been prepared by ceramic processing techniques and have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR absorption spectroscopy, and thermal expansion and electrical conductivity (σ) measurements in air at temperatures from 300 to 1100 K. It is shown that, in the range 650-700 K, the linear thermal expansion coefficient of the (Y,M)BaCuFeO5+δ phases rises from (11-12) x 10-6 to (14-15) x 10-6 K-1, while that of the YBa(Cu,Co)FeO5+δ solid solution decreases from 18 x 10-6 to 14 x 10-6 K-1. The conductivity data (an increase in σ upon Ca2+ → Y3+ and Zn2+ → Fe3+ substitutions and a reduction in σ upon Ce4+ → Y3+ and Nb5+ → Fe3+ substitutions) demonstrate that the transport properties of YBaCuFeO5+δ can be tuned by electron-hole doping

Керамическим методом синтезированы твердые растворы (Y,M)BaCuFeO5+δ (М = Се, Са, Na), Y(Ba,K)CuFeO5+δ, YBa(Cu,Co)FeO5+δ, YBaCu(Fe,M)O5+δ (M = Zn, Nb), (Y,Ca)BaCu(Fe,Zn)O5+δ, (Y,Ca)(Ba,La)Cu(Fe,Zn)O5+δ. С помощью рентгенофазового анализа и ИК-спектроскопии поглощения определены параметры их кристаллической структуры. На воздухе в интервале температур 300-1100 К измерены их термическое расширение и электропроводность (σ). Найдено, что вблизи 650-700 К коэффициент линейного термического расширения фаз (Y,M)BaCuFeO5+δ возрастает от (11-12) х 10-6 К-1 до (14-15) х 10-6 К-1, а твердого раствора YBa(Cu,Co)FeO5+δ - уменьшается от 18 х 10-6 до 14 х 10-6 К-1. Результаты исследования электропроводности (увеличение σ при замещении Са2+ → Y3+, Zn2+ → Fe3+ и уменьшение при замещении Се4+ → Y3+, Nb5+ → Fe3+) указывают на то, что транспортные свойства фазы YBaCuFeO5+δ можно целенаправленно регулировать путем ее электронно-дырочного легированияAdditional details
