Description

Objective: To study the possibility of α-cyano-acrylic acid (ZT) glue fixing radioiodinated oil in vivo. Methods: ZT glue and iodinated oil mixture of a series of volume ratios were mixed with saline, and the coagulation process within 30 min was observed. A mixture with 1:4 volume ratio of ZT glue to 131I-iodinated oil was injected subcutaneously into 5 rats, 503.2 kBq (0.1 ml)/rat. Continuous SPECT was performed to observe γ counts at injection sites. After 38 d, animals were put to death and dissected. Local iodinated oil condition, γ counts of the heart, lung, liver, spleen, kidney, testis, right femur and injection site were recorded. Another 5 rats were injected 131I-iodinated oil without ZT glue as control group. Results: ZT glue and iodinated oil mixed as 1:10 volume ratio or higher could coagulated completely within 30 min. At 38 days after injection, 131I-iodinated oil at the injection sites of the experimental group looked yellowish with a texture similar to bean dreg, and coated by a film-like substance; the injected 131I-iodinated oil of the control group was replaced by fat tissue. Both of them had no inflammation reaction. The biological half drain time of the iodinated oil of the experimental group was 4 times longer than that in control group with the F value of 81.999, P<0.001. Effective half decrease time values of 131I-iodinated oil in two groups were different from each other with the F value of 14.158, P=0.006. After 38 d, the nuclide remainder at the local site in the experimental group was more than that in control group with the F value of 5.608, P=0.045. The nuclide remainder in the specimens of other organs in the experimental group was similar to that in control group except in the liver specimen which was a little higher. Conclusion: It is possible that using ZT glue to fix radioiodinated oil in vivo
