A method for acquisition of tilted x-CT images along paths of therapy beams and its clinical applications

Description

The current CT scanner is designed for the diagnostic imaging, and is in general not adequate for treatment planning. We improved the hardware and software of the diagnostic CT scanner to take the tilted CT images along the paths of therapy beams, and applied to 21 patients scheduled for treatment. The differences between tilted and transverse CT images were observed in 20 out of 21 cases. (author)
