New procedures of error analysis by means of X- and gamma radiography

Also in the sector of studies concerning the coarse structure, radiographic methods are being revised and improved. The requirements which have been made in industry are replaced by improved technologies in data processing; thus procedures like image processing, computerized tomography and automated radiometry are of interest and can be realized. An outline of the activities of the 'BAM-Bundesanstalt fuer Materialforschung' (Federal authority for materials research) is given and, taking multiple angle radiometry as an example, a realistic first step towards improved evaluation of information is discussed.
