An Italian technical guide on waste management

Description

The Technical Guide identifies and specifies the fundamental criteria and requirements for an appropriate waste management policy. The aim of these criteria is not to formulate a detailed legislation, that is outside the statutory duty of the Italian Regulatory Body, but to establish the general principles against which the acceptability of any waste management proposal is assessed. Throughout the document the wastes are classified into three categories related to different management routes. There is a specific guidance for the first and second categories and same general guidance for the third category which concerns those wastes requiring a confinement time of a thousand years or more.
