Case report 493: Neuroblastoma of the left ilium with disseminated bony metastasis

A case has been presented of a 22-year-old man whose initial evaluation was that of an intracranial parasellar lesion which was initially mistakenly diagnosed. This was, in part, due to very unusual location and symptomatology, lack of a primary site, and the unusual age of presentation. It was only after other metastatic bone lesions were detected and biopsied that the diagnosis of neuroblastoma could be made. A discussion is presented regarding the staging, prognosis, and current imaging modalities used to diagnose neuroblastoma. (orig./MG)
