Description

Mainly 3 types of films made their way into radiodiagnostic practice, if X-ray intensifying screens are not been taken into account, the so-called finely drawing, universal and super intensifying screens, which show a different resolving power, and, the exposure dosage of which responses approximately like 2:1:0.5. Results of the analysis of contrast-detail-diagrams, of subjective opinions of the picture quality taken of a phantom of the base of the skull as well as of pictures of natural objects are discussed, which were done using the 3 types of films 'PERLUX-Microstructure', 'PERLUX-Universal' and 'PERLUX-Extrarapid' under various exposure conditions. Hence it followed that differences of resolving power characterized by modulation transfer function are levelled under conditions applied during the examination and meeting practical demands. Results derived from examination findings are discussed from the viewpoint of X-ray protection; a broader use of extrarapidfilms is recommended. (author)
