New opportunities for neutron sciences at MLF, J-PARC
Description
New spallation neutron source at Materials and Life Science Facility (MLF) at J-PARC is the world highest intensity pulsed neutron source, which proton beam power is 1 MW at the final goal. We will have the first neutron beam in the end of May 2008 and a trial user program will start from the end of 2008. More than 10 neutron scattering instruments are planned or under construction. These instruments cover broad area of research from fundamental physics to industrial applications. The novel neutron instrument suite in MLF provides new neutron science opportunities to wide research fields. (author)
