Nuclear collisions in the time-dependent cluster model

Description

In studies of structures and reactions of light nuclear systems microscopic descriptions have become of great importance. In the present work, we solve the classical-looking equations motion, applying the (TDCM) for the case of α-α collisions. Trajectories of the center of an α- particle for various angular momenta have been constructed. We observe scattering due to the repulsive nucleus-nucleus potential, for low values of angular momenta while the trajectories are typical coulomb ones for large angular momenta. The transformation of energy between the collective kinetic and potential energies, in the case of a head-on collision is observed. We can obtain further information on the collision process by simultaneously displaying the density and current distribution. The structure of the current distribution for this case and that of the other cases of angular momenta were studied
