Overlapping 10+ and 12+ resonances near E/sub c.m./ = 18.5 MeV in 12C + 12C

Description
The confusing situation near E/sub c.m./ = 18.5 MeV in 12C + 12C can be understood as arising from the presence of overlapping 10+ and 12+ resonances, both of which are exhibited in 12C(12C,α)20Ne (g.s.). The presence of both in 12C(12C,8Be)16O (g.s.) has been previously reported by Fletcher et al
