Description
Lattice fermions in five Euclidean dimensions and the corresponding effective theory in four dimensions are defined. The main properties of these theories include the suppression of high momentum modes of the lattice Dirac operator and their ability to continuously interpolate between quenched and dynamical fermions. In particular, the standard formulation of lattice QCD can be viewed as a limiting case of the theory
