Mechanism of hydrogen absorption by zirconium alloys

Paper presents a brief analytical review of the recent investigations into the process of hydrogen absorption by zirconium and zirconium base reactor alloys. The mechanism of the cathode segments in ZrO2 prior to and subsequent to a break is analyzed: paper discusses the role of second-phase inclusions, cracks and pores. Paper brings to the notice and discusses a radically new mechanism of hydrogen absorption at oxidation of zirconium alloys both in water and in steam

Представлен краткий аналитический обзор последних исследований процесса абсорбции водорода цирконием и реакторными сплавами на его основе. Проанализирована природа катодных участков в ZrO2 до и после перелома: обсуждена роль второфазных включений, трещин и пор.
