Ionic conductivity of compounds in the system Na2MoO4/-ZnMoO4

Description

The electrical conductivity of compounds in the system Na2MoO4-ZnMoO4 (Na2.20Zn0.90(MoO4)2, Na1.80Zn2.10/(MoO4)3 and Na2Zn4(MoO4)5) has been measured as a function of composition and temperature using the accomplex impedance method and the measurements with blocking (Au) and reversible (Na) electrodes. Among the three molybdates Na2.20Zn0.90(MoO4)2 exhibits the highest conductivity and the lowest electronic transference number (at 500 degree C σac=2.34*10-3/Ω-1 cm-1, tc=1.08*10-4). Dc measurement with sodium electrodes has proved that the ionic conductivity of this compound is due to Na-ion transport. 6 refs.; 2 figs.; 1 table
