Calibration of thoron monitors
Description
The calibration of various kinds of thoron monitor has been investigated. A main problem lies in that the emanation percentage of various kinds of thoron standard source is always less than 100%. In order to determine the emanation percentage accurately, an absolute measurement method with airflow-through scintillation cell was established, and its feasibility was verified by a comparative measurement with the activated charcoal-γ spectrometer method. This will make the calibration accuracy of thoron monitors rising
