Description
A "core–shell" structure by physical coating was applied to NTC ceramics for adjusting the resistance value and it almost does not change the thermal constant B. The yttrium stabilized zirconia (YSZ) with high ρ was chosen as the core and the La0.8Ba0.2CrO3 with low ρ and low B was chosen as the shell for the La0.8Ba0.2CrO3–YSZ NTC ceramics with "core–shell" structures. The "core–shell" NTC ceramics were successfully fabricated by classical uniaxial pressing method. After sintering at 1550 °C for 4 h, the core and shell adhered very well without any cracking. The resistance value increased with the increase in the diameter of the core while without causing much change in the B value.
