Nuclear hydrodynamics and collective oscillations of density
- 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)
Description
The hydrodynamical approach is applied to analyze the ascillational excitations of a nucleus. A system of equations which describe oscillations of nuclei with arbitrary equilibrium density is obtained in the harmonical approximation. The form of the obtained approximate eigen-value equation is identical to the form of the Schroedinger equation for a variable-mass particle in a potential well. The effect of the surface diffuseness on the oscillational spectrum of spherical nuclei is analyzed quantitatively
