The dosimetry and metabolism of incorporated radionuclides

  • 1. National Radiological Protection Board, Chilton (United Kingdom)

Description

The objectives of this project are to understand the behaviour of bone-seeking radionuclides in the skeleton and to provide biokinetic data that can be used to improve assessments of doses to radiation-sensitive cells in the skeleton; to assess risks from incorporated radionuclides and to calculate dose per unit intake for workers and members of the public. A study to determine the distribution and retention of 210Po in the skeleton of rats is included. (R.P.) 5 refs., 1 fig
