Elementary processes of recombination dielectronic recombination

  • 1. National Inst. for Fusion Science, Toki, Gifu (Japan)

Description

Dielectronic recombination (DR) is an important process in both low- and high-temperature plasmas for determining ion fractions as well as for temperature diagnostics using satellite lines. From laboratory experiment, it was observed that the electric field effect is important for this process. In the last decade, experimental study of DR has progressed very much, and has revealed many interesting results. Stimulated by the experiment, theoretical work has been developed in detail. We briefly review and present recent theoretical and experimental progress (author)
