Reactor noise analysis of the experimental fast reactor JOYO

Description
Reactor noise in the experimental fast reactor JOYO at 50 MWt was measured. Auto power spectral densities and coherence functions of neutron noise and sodium temperature noise were calculated. Driving forces and space dependent phenomena of neutron noise were examined. A change of physical characteristics in the reactor core, as reactivity-to-power gain change, was observed. Reactor noise had been measured before and after the change. These noise characteristics were compared with each other and analyzed for the development of the surveillance system. (U.K.)
