Description

In this paper, a methodology for quantification of alpha activity in solid radioactive waste (used neoprene hand gloves and cotton mop heads) is developed. The method is based on estimation of α:β and β:γ activity ratios and measurement of gamma dose rates of assorted solid radioactive waste packages. This method for quantification of alpha activity has been developed using samples of used neoprene hand gloves and cotton mop heads from a PHWR spent fuel reprocessing plant
