The zoom afocal lens

  • 1. Royal Holloway and Bedford New Coll., Egham (UK). Dept. of Physics

Description

We show how it is possible to produce an afocal electrostatic lens with true zoom control. This is done by relaxing the requirement that V31 equals √V51 of the original Heddle lens [D.W.O. Heddle, J. Phys. E4 (1971) 981]. A substantial range of magnification is available over a wide range of overall voltage ratios. (orig.)
