Elastic deformation of dispersive particles inherited by martensite from austenite and peculiarities of γ reversible α transformation in Fe-Ni-Co-Ti alloys

Description
Elastic deformation of coherent particles of γ'-phase precipitated during austenite ageing and inherited by martensite in γ→α transformation is studied by electron microscopy. The effect of coherent particles on some characteristics of α→γ transition in the Fe-23%Ni-10%Co-10%Ti alloy is investigated. Reversible change of properties is revealed at multiple repetitions of the cycles: cooling down to 77 K and the succeeding heating up to 400 K. This character of the property change is explained by reversible shifts of boundaries between the martensite and retained austenite
