Technology and costs of the decommissioning of nuclear power plant at the end of service life
Description
The report explains in detail the STILIKO model concept for the decommissioning of nuclear power plant equipped with LWR-type reactor, discussing two variants fully covered by the model. The decommissioning work and procedure is characterised by means of selected work schedules of interest from the technical perspective. Dismantling, treatment and storage or processing of the components are described, from the perspective of radioactive waste treatment or materials recycling. The report shows how the various steps of decommissioning are to be weighted and classified, and assessed in terms of cost. A survey is given of the general and of novel technological means of decommissioning, and of the licensing practice in West Germany. An extensive comparison of the latest results reported with those of VDI progress report series 15, no. 18 of 1982 is made. (orig./HP) With 15 figs., 22 tabs
Abstract (German)
Der Bericht beschreibt ein detailliertes Modell (STILIKO) zur Stillegung von Kernkraftwerken mit LWR nach zwei Stillegungsvarianten. Die Stillegungsvorgaenge selbst werden anhand ausgewaehlter, technisch interessanter Arbeitspakete geschildert. Die Demontage, Behandlung und der Verbleib der Komponenten, entweder als radioaktiver Abfall oder als rezyklierfaehiges Material, ist dargestellt. Der Bericht zeigt, wie die einzelnen Vorgaenge bei der Stillegung zu bewerten sind und wie daraus die Kosten ermittelt werden koennen. - Es wird ein Ueberblick ueber den allgemeinen Stand der neueren Stillegungstechniken und ueber die bisherige Genehmigungspraxis zur Stillegung von Kernkraftwerken in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland gegeben. - Der Bericht vergleicht ausfuehrlich die dargestellten neuesten Ergebnisse mit denen des Fortschritt-Berichts VDI Reihe 15 Nr. 18 von 1982, der sich ebenfalls mit der Stillegung von Kernkraftwerken befasste.
