Periodic inspection of pressure vessel metal condition in WWER type reactors
Description
Described are the methods, equipment and technological procedure for periodic inspection of the sealing and inner surfaces, as well as of the branch pipes on the housings of the Novo-Voronezh nuclear power plant reactors. Considerable radiation background, high temperature of the inspected metal, and difficult access to the objects of inspection have called for elaboration and employment of the television sets and periscopes, protection cabins with the inspection ports and detachable hatch covers, remotely-controlled gamma-flaw detection installation, and special procedures for ultrasonic, dye penetrant and radiographic inspection
