Physics and detectors at future hadron colliders

Description
Two projects of very large proton-proton colliders have taken shape during the last few years. In the United States, the Superconducting-Super-Collider would be the largest accelerator in the world, with a circumference larger than 80 kilometers, providing collisions between two 20 TeV proton beams at high luminosity. In Europe, the installation of a p-p machine in the LEP tunnel would allow for a collider with 8 TeV beams, in an already existing framework. This talk intends to give an overview of the issues addressed in the numerous studies on physics at these machines. Rather than attempting an exhaustive description, it first sketches the general environment, then considers in some detail two physics topics: Heavy Higgs search (with emphasis on the decay into two W, with one W decaying into leptons and the order into hadron jets), and Super-symmetric particles search. In the end, conclusions are draws from these examples
