Problems of diagnostic vibration and noise monitoring of the reactor coolant pump and the reactor
Description
Starting from experience gained in the USSR, the GDR, and the USA, a vibroacoustic method has been developed for continuous in-service monitoring of the state of the main equipment of the primary coolant circuit of the V-1 nuclear power plant units 1 and 2. It is based on recording and analysing vibrations, shocks, and structural noise at the surface of equipment casings, especially of the reactor coolant pump motor and the reactor vessel. Diagnostic monitoring of the state of the reactor coolant pumps during start-up and initial operation of unit 1 of the V-1 nuclear power plant is described. The finally chosen comparatively simple semi-automatic diagnostic system for the units 1 and 2 is presented of 11 accelerometer sensors, 1 preamplifier, 2 change-over switches, and 1 monitoring unit.
