Distortionless bi-dimensional localization on a resistive plane: a pure hardware way

Description
A new approach to the image distortion problem arising in bi-dimensional event localization on resistive planes is presented. Theoretical considerations lead to the proposed solution which consists in the multiplication of the pick-up electrodes and a suitable subsequent mixing of the output currents by means of discrete resistors. Experimental results exhibit image practically distortionfree over more than 80% of the resistive area without any software treatment of the data. Submillimetric spatial resolution is easily achieved
