Design, fabrication and performance test of heating and cooling system of JT-60 vacuum vessel

Description
This report describes design, fabrication and performance test of heating and cooling system of JT-60 vacuum vessel. The vacuum vessel was designed to be bakable up to 500℃ by electric heaters as a means of ultra-high vacuum treatments, and was required to be cooled down by water or nitrogen gas. Results of the on-site baking test after assembly of the machine showed that the design requirements for the maximum temperature, temperature difference, heating time, ultimate vacuum and outgassing rate were satisfied, and no leaks were detected with helium leak testing. It was also found that the slide mechanism for thermal expansion during the heating-up and cooling-down phase functioned satisfactorily. (author)

臨界プラズマ試験装置JT-60の真空容器の加熱冷却装置及びその試験結果について述べる。JT-60の真空容器には超高真空対策の一つであるベーキングなどのために最高500℃まで加熱でき、かつ比較的短時間で冷却可能な加熱冷却装置を設けた。加熱には電気ヒータ、冷却には水または窒素ガスを用いた。現地における真空容器組立後のベーキング試験の結果、到達温度、昇温時間、温度分布などは目標値を十分に満足し、また到達圧力、放出ガス速度なども仕様を満し、ベーキング後の真空リークもすべて検出感度以下であった。また、昇降温時の熱膨張変位に対して摺動部も正常に作動することを確認した。(著者)Additional details
