Synthesis and characterization of ThO2-EuO1.5 solid solutions
- 1. Fuel Chemistry Div., Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)
Description
Thorium dioxide dissolves considerable amounts of rare earth oxides forming FCC fluorite - type solid solution. In the present study, thoria-europia oxide solid solutions containing 5 to 45 mole of EuO1.5 were synthesized and characterized in order to study the behaviour of thorium-europium-oxygen systems.
