Central neurofibromatosis imaging

Description

The neuro-cutaneous syndromes, even rare, are a serious social problem, since they affect young people, lead to a severe disability and often require multiple surgical interventions. The role of the image diagnosis in this cases is the precise and thorough diagnosing and providing information for the adequate therapeutic and especially surgical strategy for each patient. The summarize data are presented for for the patients with neurofibromatosis II and multiple meningiomatosis, as well as the actual diagnostic criteria for such diseases. The authors present their experience in the diagnosing of patients with extra-axial tumors in correlation with surgical or histological findings. A protocol for imaging of such patients is proposed for national consensus
