Integration method for solving MHD equilibria of noncircular tokamak plasmas*

  • 1. Southwestern Institute of Physics, Leshan, Sichuan, China

Description

An integration method is applied to the calculation of free boundary MHD equilibria for noncircular tokamak plasmas. The advantage of the method is the limited storage requirements, such that the problem can be solved on a small computer. Equilibria have been obtained for some noncircular tokamaks with a limiter and rectangular conducting wall. Numerical results show good agreements with physical analysis
