Current topics and major activities with respect to the training and qualification of NPP personnel in Spain

Description
The nuclear program in Spain is stagnant since 1988 with 9 NPPs in operation, and one being decommissioned. Major issues influencing the present training and qualification performance of NPP personnel are described as external and internal factors. General aspect of training cover training in severe accidents; and training in radiological protection. Training of the operation personnel is performed by using plant specific full scope simulators. Training of maintenance personnel is done at the Maintenance Training Center
