Description

We review the BRST approach to G/H coset WZNW models and discuss the precise ingrediences needed for this formulation. Then we will show the equivalence of this approach to the conventional coset formulation. This is achieved by solving the BRST cohomology for a class of representations. Other classes of representations are alsod discussed. The BRST approach enables a covariant construction of the characters for general cosets, which does not rely on the decomposition of G as G/HxH. We demonstrate this explicitly for the example of SU(2)kxSU(2)1/SU(2)k+1. (orig.)
