Coal-fired combined plants and power stations with high-temperature reactors for the energy supply of tomorrow

Description
Dwindling resources as well as threatening climatic changes caused by CO2 seem to make it necessary to increase the energy conversion processes which promise a relief with regard to both problematic situations. Promising are the development of the combined gas and steam turbine process for the electricity generation from coal, as well as that of the high-temperature reactor, which enables besides the generation of electric energy the provision of heat at a high temperature range, too. The combination of these two components in a partly modified form allows, moreover, the provision of a number of gaseous energy carriers. The authors present these two components in detail, describe their development stage, as well as their existing development potential. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Knapper werdende Ressourcen sowie drohende klimatische Veraenderungen durch CO2 lassen es geboten erscheinen, Energieumwandlungsprozesse zu forcieren, die eine Entlastung hinsichtlich beider Problemlagen versprechen. Vielversprechend sind die Entwicklung des kombinierten Gas- und Dampfturbinenprozesses zur Stromerzeugung aus Kohle sowie der Hochtemperatur-Reaktor, der neben der Erzeugung elektrischer Energie auch die Bereitstellung von Waerme auf hohem Temperaturniveau ermoeglicht. Die Verknuepfung dieser beiden Bausteine in teilweise modifizierter Form erlaubt darueber hinaus die Bereitstellung einer Reihe gasfoermiger Energietraeger. Die Autoren stellen diese beiden Bausteine ausfuehrlich vor, beschreiben den Entwicklungsstand sowie das in ihnen steckende Entwicklungspotential. (orig.)Additional details
