Description

Spent nuclear fuel storage pool is a vital facility that is very important to maintain the condition of water quality according to Boundary Operation Condition (BKO), to avoid the occurrence of corrosion process. The next step is to analyze the growth of corrosion-causing bacteria, and the APB bacteria in the spent fuel storage pool. The impact of microbe on corrosion is quite important, it cannot be ignored and requires a more intensive study so as to influence corrosion can be minimized. Research by taking 10 sampling points on pond water and canals, 7 points on the pond and 3 points on the channel then inoculated into tube And stored in an incubator for 1 - 5 days at a temperature of 30 °C. Visually observed changes in color from red to yellow, starting the first day until the fifth day. From the analysis result by sanicheck APB detected the presence of strong corrosive acid production (APB) with the with the estimated population of 90,000 cfu /mL in pool and channel of spent nuclear fuel storage, while at other sampling points was weak, because that area very small water flow tend to be quieter than the other location, due to the location of the pipeline for the water circulation pond far from that point, so it is necessary to re-install the circulation pipe so that the water flow is more homogeneous.
