Barite glasses for radioactive wastes vitrification
Description
Green Mixtures of Raw Materials as a Metallurgical Slag (10% PbO) and Barite, in various proportions, were fired at temperatures of 1000 degrees C-1200 degrees C, in order to produce materials for Radioactive Wastes Vitrification. Density, firing shrinkage, chemical resistance and high energy radiations absorbance of the Glasses were investigated. It is then clear the possibility of preparation of useful materials by re-use of industrial wastes with polluting problems
