The reactions 37Cl + 27Al and 16O + 48Ti in the energy region of (100-200) MeV. Scission of a composite system

  • 1. Tsukuba Univ., Sakura, Ibaraki (Japan). Inst. of Physics

Description

The 37Cl + 27Al and 16O + 48Ti reactions leading to the same composite system 64Zn were studied at bombarding energies corresponding to excitation energies between 85 MeV and 101 MeV. The projectilelike and targetlike products were detected in two counter telescopes. For each element, energy spectra, angular distributions of total kinetic energy sub(A,Z) and energy-integrated cross-sections (dsigma/dtheta)sub(A,Z) were obtained. In both cases, two distinct components show up, the second one at energies and angles larger than given values. Whereas the first one clearly reflects ''directlike'' processes, the second one can be accounted for by using a simple effective interacting potential
