Monte Carlo simulations of scintillating fiber optic waveguides
Description
The authors have been studying the light transmission properties of single scintillating fiber optics waveguides through detailed Monte Carlo simulation and experimental measurements. In particular, they have been attempting to probe the nature of the single-photon detection problem in this context as part of the effort to develop a scintillating fiber tracking subsystem for use in SSC experiments. Preliminary results for the model calculations are discussed
