Influence of openings on nuclear characteristics of a fusion reactor blanket

  • 1. Association-Euratom ENEA, CRE Frascati, CP.65 00044 Frascati

Description

In recent years, it has been shown that the non homogeneities caused by openings in blanket (for vacuum pumping, plasma heating, maintenance parts, etc.) dramatically depress the tritium breeding ratio, TER, and other nuclear characteristics of a blanket. The object under study is the fusion reactor based on Tokamak physics. The reference unit is that as proposed by ANL-Argonne version with 1.2cm of first wall, 35cm Li/sub 2/0 breeder, water cooling, PCA, plenum and shield. Additionally 6cm of Be multiplier has been introduced after the first 2cm of breeder
