Variation of the mean square amplitude with concentration in Hg1-xCdxTe
Description
The mean square displacements (MSD) of Hg and Te in the mixed system Hg1-xCdxTe have been calculated for various concentrations of Cd atoms (x = 0.20, 0.40, 0.60, 0.80, 1.00) at 4, 77, and 300 K by means of the virtual crystal approximation. An unusual trend in MSD is found for x below 0.2: the higher mass has higher value of MS amplitude
