Description
Hydrogels were synthesized form N-(2-aminothiazolyl)maleamic acid (NATMA) and its copolymers for separation of Uranium (VI) in aqueous environment. Hydrogels are synthesized by free radical polymerisation by azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN), as initiator and N,N-methylenebisacrylamide MBA, as crosslinker at 55 ℃. Both Uranyl ion doped and pristine hydrogels were characterized by FTIR for structural confirmation. Studied swelling properties Uranyl ion uptake, pH effect, concentration effect, kinetic studies, isotherm model fittings were studied. (author)
