Parametric excitation of hybrid resonances in plasmas containing impurity ions
Description
The influence of impurity ions on the parametric excitation of hybrid resonances is investigated. For the case of parametric excitation of the lower-hybrid resonance by means of an ordinary high power electromagnetic wave it is estimated that there is a decrease of about 10% in the growth-rate and an increase of about 10% in the threshold power of the parametric process due to impurities for typical TOKAMAK plasmas

On envisage l'influence des ions impurete sur l'excitation parametrique des resonances hybrides. Dans le cas de l'excitation parametrique de la resonance hybride inferieure, au moyen d'une onde electromagnetique ordinaire de grande amplitude on trouve les resultats suivants pour des plasmas typiques TOKAMAK: les processus parametriques dus aux impuretes entrainent une diminution d'environ 10% du taux de croissance d'instabilite et un accroissement d'environ 10% du niveau de puissance pour le seuil de l'excitationFiles
