On changes of mechanical and structural properties of iron, carbon steel and austenitic stainless steel due to impact-wave loading in -196-800 C temperature range

Description

The results of studies of shock-were loading effect in the temperature range of 196-800 C on mechanical properties, structure and spail fracture type of iron, low-carbon and 12Kh18N10T steels are presented. Methods of metallography, transmission and scanning electron microscopy, hardness measurement, standard mechanical properties determination and X-ray analysis were used. Correlation between testing temperature dependences of residual mechanical and structural properties of the materials was found. Results of spail fracture fractography of the materials at different temperatures are presented. Refs. 7., figs. 4
