Non-inductive electric current generation with the Alfven waves
Description
Non-inductive current generation by means of radio frequency waves is studied using one-dimensional (1D) quasilinear equations. The main results obtained in this thesis are the general expressions for the current generated, for the efficiency of current generation and for the critical power - the lowest power required for current saturation. Estudou-se a geracao de corrente eletrica nao indutiva com o emprego das ondas de radio-frequencia utilizando-se as equacoes da teoria quase-linear unidimensional em um plasma infinito, homogeneo e uniformemente magnetizado na direcao z. Os principais resultados obtidos foram as expressoes gerais para a corrente eletrica gerada, para a eficiencia de geracao de corrente e para a potencia critica-a menor potencia requerida para a saturacao da corrente.
